Today we have to talk about mini nuclear weapons. In the U.S. SADMs called by its acronym in English. Mistakenly, many believe that it is (Small Atomic Demolition Munitions, small atomic demolition munitions). In fact, it is (SPECIAL Atomic Demolition Munitions, ie atomic demolition munitions special). The term "mini-nuke ', is a popular term. Usually refers to a portable nuclear charge, designed to operate in variable yields a minimum of 0.01 kt (10 tons of TNT) or 0.015kt (15 tons of TNT) and 0.1 kt ( 100 tons of TNT); 0.2kt (200 tons of TNT); 0.3kt, 0.4 kt, 0.5 kt etc - up to 1 kiloton (1,000 tons of TNT) and up to several tonnes. A final performance is determined by the end user manually.

The first generation of these mini-nukes with a yield reasonably small - (between 2 and 5 kilotonnes) - was developed in the 50s without any malicious reason. The first mini-nuclear bombs were designed to help combat engineers demolish large objects, such as large bridges, which were simply too large to be demolished by a reasonable amount of conventional explosives.
